Pay attention, do your homework, eat your vegetables is good advice fourth-graders hear from their parents all the time. However, when the message is incorporated into a night of fun amongst family and friends, the results can be amazing.
The fourth-grade students of Poland Union Elementary School spent Thursday, Jan. 26 celebrating Family Health Night, where the words of two guest speakers drew them in, they took part in a little healthy eating trivia courtesy of Turning Technologies audience response system, and were treated to a mouthwatering array of fresh fruits and vegetables provided by Sirna and Sons Produce.
Without even realizing, with the support of school and family, Union students took ingested a heaping serving of useful information on ways to incorporate healthy habits into their days.
Speaker Chris Mielo, joined by Chaz Kellem (not pictured) offered assemblies earlier in the school day, later gaining feedback from the students on what they had learned regarding leadership and responsibility.
