Boardman Center Middle School under the direction of eighth-grade American history teachers Brad Calhoun and Marilyn Scheetz have formed the first ever Boardman Center Middle School Civics Club. The group will be devoting time and energies through volunteerism and projects that impact the community. The first act of service, will be a school-wide clothing drive to benefit Goodwill Industries of Mahoning County. Members of the community can drop off bags of clothes at door 1 in the back of Boardman Center Middle School, 7410 Market St., on Jan. 25 or 26. Center Civics Club Student Chairman Corie Kuras said, 'This clothing drive will certainly help those in need and make the students understand the need to serve. We want to make a difference.'
