Kvaerner North American Construction Inc. donated various comfort goods and amenities to the Navy branch of the Protective Services Team assigned to CJIAF 435 PSD Camp Phoenix, a base in Kabul, Afghanistan. Kvaerner NAC employees, 32-year Poland residents Tom and Diane Holtzman’s son, Petty Officer 2nd Class Constantine C. Holtzman, a 2004 graduate of Poland Seminary High School (third from the right in the photo) is a member of this elite squad. The squad members are assigned to protect the commander assigned to that base as well as other high risk personnel. Each month, a parcel, which includes various non-perishable and comfort foods, is sent to the squad. Steve Harker, president of Kvaerner, said, “We thank all of those who are serving their country in the armed forces and appreciate the sacrifices they and their families make each day for everyone’s well-being.” The team has been deployed since November and is scheduled there through June 2012.
