How do you spell success?

January 19, 2012
Special to the Town Crier

It was a red letter day for Holy Family School's Olivia Morrison, who recently won the school's annual Geography Bee.

The school-level bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the first round in the 24th annual National Geographic Bee. The 2012 bee for students in grades six through eight in thousands of schools across the United States is sponsored by Google.

An eighth-grader, Olivia will advance to the next level of competition, a written examination to determine state competitors in Columbus. All school winners are eligible to win the national championship and its first prize, a $25,000 college scholarship, at the national competition May 22-24, in Washington, D.C., where "Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek will moderate the national finals on May 24.
