Canfield girl swimmers came out on top with 488 points on Saturday, Jan. 14 in the AAC League Championship meet with Hubbard, Poland, Lisbon-Beaver, Jefferson and Fitch.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the Canfield team of Sarah Heaven, Olivia Williamson, Mallory Allen and Jamie Wellham took home first after setting a new meet record. Heaven, Williamson, and Allen later teamed up with Briana O'Malley to take first and yet another meet record in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Other first place winners who also set meet records included 200-yard individual medley, Heaven; 50-yard freestyle, Wellham, 100-yard fly, Allen;100-yard free, Williamson; 500-yard free, Allen; 100-yard backstroke, Heaven. Williamson also won the 100-yard breaststroke.

In the boys meet, the Cards took home top honors after scoring 512 points in the AAC championship on Saturday. Winners included, in the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Adam Weiss, Jake Smith, Connor Brady, and Michael DiDomenico.
Other winners were: in 200-yard free, Daniel Bogen; 200-yard individual medley, Kyle Anderson; 50-yard free, Mark Dalvin; 100-yard fly, Brady; 100-yard free, Bogen; 500-yard free, Drew Bennett; 200-yard free relay, team of Brady, Bogen, Smith, Dalvin; 100-yard backstroke, Brady; 100-yard breaststroke, Smith; 400-yard free relay, team of Dalvin, Mike Cardone, DiDomenico, and Bogen. All the individual swimmers and some of the teams set new meet records during the event.
