The Canfield Middle School and High School wrestling teams faced off against Hubbard at Canfield High School on Tuesday, Jan. 10. The Cardinals came through with convincing wins against their league foe.
The middle school team, led by head coach Steve DeMaiolo, won by the count of 84-10. Winners for the Cards were Shawn Frisbie (80 lbs), Nathan Buttle (92), Kyle West (98), Tommy Donnadee (104), Giorgio Poullas (110), Braxton Madison (116), Ryan Murphy (122), CJ Frost (128), Nick Sammarco (134), David Labra (142), Mike Rubesick (150), Jaret Bunch (160), David Hofsess (172), and Jacob Esinco (205).
The high school team followed with an equally impressive showing, winning by the count of 66-12. Winning for the Cards were Stephen Daprile (106, forfeit), Korey Frost (113, forfeit), Anthony Spencer (120, forfeit), Nick Borucki (126, forfeit), Jake Dunbar (132, pin), Adam Nye (138, forfeit), Shawn Williams (145, 9-4), Bryan Batton (152, 6-2), John Poullas (160, pin), Stephen Hamilton (170, pin), Sam Connor (195, pin), and Curtis Burns (215, pin).

Coach Conley said, "This was a nice win against one of our traditional rivals. We are now 14-3 in dual meets and the kids are wrestling well. The middle school team had a great night also, and this program has become a great feeder for the high school team and we appreciate all the hard work that team puts in as well."
