Noreen Fossesco and Ed Schmidt exchanged wedding vows on July 16 at The Lodge at Buckberry Creek in Gatlinburg, Tenn. The Rev. Capt. James Maples officiated at the 6:30 p.m. ceremony. The Smoky Mountains provided a beautiful backdrop for the wedding on the outdoor Hearthside Room deck. The bride and groom plan to honeymoon on a Caribbean cruise.
A candlelight dinner reception at the Buckberry Creek Lodge followed the ceremony. A post-nuptial celebration honoring the newly married couple took place July 30 at the Beaver Creek Club in Amherst.
Parents of the bride are Anthony and Joanne Fossesco of Boardman. Ed and Elyce Schmidt of Chagrin Falls are parents of the groom.

The bride wore an open-back fitted white halter gown embellished with Swarovski crystals and beading on the halter straps, waistband and side slit of illusion netting. She carried a bouquet of vibrantly colored summer wildflowers.
The new Mrs. Schmidt graduated magna cum laude from Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science in nursing. She is a registered nurse at the Cleveland Clinic Lorain Health Center in Lorain.
Mr. Schmidt received a bachelor of science in business from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich. He proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps, and is the owner and operator of Cleveland Demolition.
The newlyweds reside in Wellington.
