Despite four goals from senior Sean Meditz and a goal by senior Adam Scheetz, the Cards (2-8) could not overcome an early 5-0 deficit and fell to the Brush Arcs 7-5 in the first game of the Brooklyn Christmas Hockey Tournament, Dec. 26.
Canfield was down 5-1 heading into the second period got two goals from Meditz and one from Scheetz before the end of the second, to put them down 5-4. Canfield would get not closer as the Arcs (2-5) finished off the Cards in the third period by taking a 6-4 lead, before Meditz would score again to close the gap to 6-5 with just under six minutes left. Brush won the contest 7-5.
On Dec. 27, Brooklyn scored two goals in the first 3:27 and Canfield goalie Megan Cole shut the door the rest of the way stopping 31 shots, but the Cards couldn't get the equalizer falling 2-1 in the Brooklyn Christmas tournament. Pat Bassett tallied the lone Cardinal goal with an assist from Nick Crescimanno.
