The Austintown Township trustees and the Austintown Generational Enrichment Committee are searching for a permanent director for the center now that the Austintown Senior Service Levy passed last November.
For several months, Austintown Trustee Lisa Oles has been volunteering as interim director at the Austintown Senior Center; however, the center is looking to expand their hours among other changes taking place and having a permanent director is necessary.
"This center is a special place to me. I've formed many friendships here and I will miss everyone. However, the position is very demanding and we are searching for someone who will write grants and oversee the day-to-day operations," said Lisa Oles.
The position will require supervising, directing and coordinating staff; budget development and management; creating and adhering to a financial plan; grant writing; overseeing general day-to-day operations; ordering office supplies; and ensuring the space is clean, safe and secure. The right candidate will also have good problem solving skills, public relation skills, and marketing and advertising knowledge. The position will be part-time (not to exceed 28 hours a week). Hours will be flexible. No benefits will be offered.
The position will require an associate's degree or equivalent experience in business administration or associated field. A background check will be required.
Resumes can be submitted to Austintown Township Trustees, 82 Ohltown Road, Austintown, Ohio 44515 by Jan. 12. No phone calls will be accepted.
