Although at this particular inn there is always room for one more, for this blessed occasion, inside was the baby Jesus, wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.

With staff, residents, and families welcomed to join them, Shepherd of the Valley, Poland, celebrated the season with their fifth annual living nativity.

Sharing that the facility includes many traditional Christmas celebrations, such as carolers and a visit from Santa, Associate Director Kelly Stansloski said that being a Christian organization, they wanted to include one event that focused on the true meaning of Christmas.

Staff, residents and family members joined together for Shepherd of the Valley, Poland’s fifth annual live nativity as attendees joined in song and followed up with a Christmas cookie reception afterwards.

With many of the parts played by staff, residents, and family members, this year's event welcomed "Sheba," the pet Pug of a staff member who recently joined the staff as the facility's therapy dog. Donning sheep's clothing, "Sheba" joined the children in the manger scene.

According to Stanloski, although there are numerous occasions to gather throughout the year, the event provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with the staff, residents, and their families, in a less formal setting.
