Boardman Rotary gives kids a head start on winter

December 23, 2011
The Town Crier

Children in the Head Start program in Mahoning County were the lucky recipients of 55 brand new winter coats, thanks to the Boardman Rotary Club. This is the third year in a row the club has provided coats to the children.

The coat giveaway is organized by Boardman Rotarian Ryan Cuffle, using funds donated by the club. Through creative shopping techniques using Kohl's cash and gift cards, Cuffle was able to stretch the initial investment to provide an additional 25 coats this year.

Rotarians and Boardman High School Interact members delivered the coats to various Head Start locations throughout Mahoning County last week, just in time for the arrival of winter weather.
