Austintown Girl Scout Troop 80680 traveled to Amron Lanes in Canfield on Saturday for a district-wide Christmas party and the kick off to the annual cookie sales which starts this week. The girls enjoyed the celebration, but aren't finished spreading holiday cheer.

"We will be going caroling at Sateri Home in Boardman this week," said Troop leader Meggan Sutherland. "We have adopted the nursing home."

She said adopting the nursing home meant the girls would devote a lot of volunteer hours bringing joy to the residents of the assisted living facility. A few weeks ago the girls visited the home and worked on crafts with the residents.

Austintown Girl Scouts Camilla and Magda Sutherland put on their sweet personalities dressed as Dosi-Dos and Tag Along Girl Scout cookies during a district rally to kick off the cookie sales last week. The sisters are members of Austintown Troop 80680.

During Saturday's party, Sutherland's daughters, Camilla and Magda, each put on a cookie costume representing the peanut butter favorites of Dosi-Dos and Tag-Alongs. They took part in a skit before a group of 100 girls from 14 different local troops that attended the party in Canfield.
