Students in the Culinary Arts program at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center have opened their student-run restaurant to the public for 2011-2012 academic year.
The Bistro at MCCTC is open from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays for dine in or carry out through the spring. It located within the Career Center and gives culinary arts students the chance to gain experience in a working restaurant. Whether running the kitchen staff as the sous chef or waiting on customers in the dining room, students are able to experience all levels of restaurant operation while still in high school.
Freshly prepared soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts are available, and everything is made by students under the supervision of culinary arts instructor chef Matt Putzier. Entrees start at just $6 with sandwiches starting at $5.
