Knights of Columbus aid local Scout Troop

The Knights of Columbus, Poland Council 4471 presented a check for $1,200 to Sister Kathleen McCaregher from Good News Ministries Oct. 17 to help with their work preparing developmentally disabled children from the Diocese of Youngstown to receive their sacraments. This money comes from the council's Measure-Up Campaign, which takes place in the spring of every year. These funds are donated by Poland area businesses, collected by the Knights at local parishes and at Sam's Club on South Avenue in Boardman.

In addition to the grant given to Good News Ministries, the Knights also presented a check for $1,200 to Boy Scout Troop 3 at the same gathering. Scout Troop 3 based in the Mahoning Valley is the only troop dealing with Scouts who are developmentally disabled.
