The Awesome-Town Community Fun Day committee met last week to begin work on the 2012 event and to divide the proceeds from this year’s event.
The committee members decided to donate $300 each to Mission of Love, the Austintown Senior Center and to a local family in need. It left $1,800 to begin next year’s event.
“That leaves us with a little more to work with than last year as we go forward,” said event founder Brad Bloomster.
A lot of discussion took place at the meeting regarding the next event. The hope is to draw in more individuals, groups, businesses and organizations.
One item under consideration would save vendors some money.
“We also talked about offering vendors the chance to participate for free (waiving the $25 registration fee), if they register and promise to participate by the early bird deadline of April 1. No foolin’,” Bloomster said.
For the immediate time, the decision was made to take a little breather then return at 6 p.m. Dec. 7 at Austintown Community Church. Meetings for 2012 were set for the third Thursday of the month which include Jan. 19, Feb. 16, and March 15.
