“This is the third year we’ve done this,” said Stadium Principal Jim Goske.
As in past years, the staff and students were all asked to wear pink tops to school on Friday. They could also bring in a donation that was collected on Friday morning and will be given to a representative of Akron Children’s Hospital Blood and Cancer Center in Boardman sometime this week.
“We raised $342.40,” Goske reported just before noon.
To further show awareness, the staff and students all received pink armbands to wear. The armbands and shirts were obvious at recess as it looked like a sea of pink across the playground.
The Pink Brigade in the hall at Stadium Drive Elementary School on Friday included kindergartners, in front, Mackenzie Kelso, Sami Defabio, Sydney Pavlik, Lydia Choi, Christopher Beeman, and India Jackson. In the back row are Camille Wagner, Mary Catherine Werth, Brianna Alberti, Madison Dado, Mackenzie Jenkins and Luke Gehring.
