Eugene and the former Antonette Popio were married Sept. 14, 1946 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Youngstown. They are presently members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Youngstown.
Mr. Calcagni was employed by the James A. Henderson Company in Youngstown for 15 years, and as a property unit manager for Allstate Insurance Company for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II with amphibious forces in the South Pacific. He is currently an officer of the Vestibule Club and a member of the Festival Committee and the Senior Citizens Club at Mount Carmel, as well as a member of Italian-American Veterans Post 3, the Youngstown Morra League and the National LSM Association.
Mrs. Calcagni is involved with the Festival Committee and the Senior Citizens Club at Mount Carmel.
The Calcagnis are the parents of Jean (Eugene) Wargo of New Middletown and Joseph (Cyndi) Calcagni of Boardman. A son, Joseph Anthony Calcagni, is deceased. They have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
