A dinner was held to honor John “Jack” McAndrew and the former Elizabeth “Dolly” Angelo as they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married Sept. 15, 1951, at Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown.
Jack and Dolly both graduated from East High School in Youngstown, and Jack served in the Marine Corps for two years during the Korean War. They then moved to Austintown and are members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where they serve as greeters.
Jack is retired from General Motors and enjoys working in his yard. He also is an avid Fitch football fan. Dolly, who is retired from Youngstown State University, keeps busy with her two card clubs and her bowling league.
The couple has five children: sons John P. (Mary) and Bill (Ida) of Austintown, and Tony (Cathy) of Fullerton, Calif.; and daughters Karen (Brian) Biggs and Linda Droege, also of Austintown. They also have four grandchildren: Nina Droege, Jennie and Jesse McAndrew of Austintown, and Sarah McAndrew of Fullerton, Calif.
