• Varsity Girls Tennis
The Poland girls tennis team defeated Austintown Fitch, 4-1 in action on Sept. 27. In singles, Cara Palusak defeated Fitch’s Emily Fisher 6-0, 6-0; and Abi Spratt defeated Austintown’s Latrice Nelson 6-3, 6-2. Poland’s only loss came when Breanna Barto defeated Poland’s Jenna Rindy 6-1, 6-4. In doubles play, the Bulldog team of Amy Noll and Elise Eckman shut down Fitch’s Angela Murphy and Ashley Hanuschak 6-0, 6-4; and the team of Madeline Queen and Celia Melillo downed Fitch’s Katie Klepec and Sarah Kupas 7-6, 6-0.
