Jenkins to manage $30 million dollar Hine Fund

October 5, 2011
Special to the Town Crier
Christine Jenkins has been named program coordinator of Hine Memorial Fund of The Youngstown Foundation. She will manage the fund and its mission to assist with the treatment of, care for and assistance to children with disabilities, as well as initiate and manage programs and projects that impact community needs. In addition, she will be responsible for continuing the Fund's interest in universal design. This program was initiated in response to a need for greater physical access to recreational opportunities identi?ed during the foundation's recent countywide Parent/Caregiver Survey of families having children with disabilities. While universal design is inclusive of these issues, it recognizes accessibility barriers that face many other groups of people such as Baby Boomers, blind, deaf, individuals who are left handed as well as mothers navigating toddler-laden strollers. Jenkins is the former director of development and marketing at The Youngstown Hearing & Speech Center, where she served for 14 years. She resides in Canfield with her husband and two children. She was introduced at a recent Hine Committee meeting.
