Boardman Township officials have announced that they have established a fixed natural gas rate for members of the township's aggregation program.
Residents participating in the township's natural gas program supplied by Vectren Source will pay a fixed rate of $5.54 per mcf for all gas consumed from November 2011 to September 2012.
“We are pleased to have been able to strike this low rate for our residents and businesses,” said township administrator Jason Loree. “The $5.54 per mcf rate compares very favorably to what residents can obtain on their own at this time. Residents and businesses currently in the program will receive a rate change notice, and those newly eligible will receive an opt-out letter from Vectren Source on or around Oct. 14. The newly-eligible account holders will be automatically added to the township's program unless they opt out during a 21-day period as stated in the letter."
Any resident or small business that is currently served by another supplier may seek enrollment in the township's aggregation program by calling Vectren Source at 1-800-608-6510 or responding via fax, mail or internet as directed in the letter they receive. Residents served by other suppliers are encouraged to review the terms and conditions of their current supplier agreement before enrolling. New customers to the program must be in good standing and cannot be part of the utility's Percentage of Income Payment Program.
The township is pleased to have made this program possible, but asks that residents not call the township offices, as they are not equipped to handle a large volume of calls. Residents should instead contact Vectren Source at 1-800-608-8510 with their questions.
