Follow Patrol process through Twitter

September 23, 2011
Special to the Town Crier
The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be giving their Twitter followers an inside look at the Patrol’s next Academy Class as they progress through training. The patrol plans to post weekly behind-the-scenes photos of the cadets during their 23-week paramilitary training.

The patrol kicked off this social media tour earlier this month with the release of a behind-the-scenes photo of civilian personnel at the Patrol’s Tailor Shop, preparing the cadets’ uniforms on their Twitter account. They also released a photo this past Friday of the preparations going on at the Academy, in prelude to the arrival of the cadets tomorrow morning.

These new cadets will help fill the 120 vacant trooper positions statewide and will receive extensive training in firearms, traffic and criminal laws, self-defense, human relations, crash investigation, alcohol detection and apprehension. Cadets will also complete advanced driver training on the performance track at the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy in London.
