Lecture focuses on Native Americans

The Canfield Historical Society will kick off its Fall Lecture Series with a lecture by Herman Pipe, "Native Americans in the U.S. Today," at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8. Pipe, originally from Montana, where he is an enrolled tribal member, has been living in the area for approximately nine years. He works for the Ohio Education Association and also serves on Youngstown State University's Community Diversity Committee. Pipe's lecture will include a question and answer session, refreshments, and is appropriate for all ages. 

Other lectures in the Fall Lecture Series include a presentation by Sis Soller on Erma Bombeck slated for Oct. 13 and Tim Brookes with a lecture on Pretty Boy Floyd is scheduled for Nov. 10th. 

Lectures take place at the Canfield Historical Society's Bond House, located at 44 West Main St., Canfield, across from the Canfield Library. All lectures are free and open to anyone who would like to attend. For more information, call the historical society at 330-533-3458.
