The Bulldog Turf Club and friends donated $700 worth of food to the Poland Inter Faith Food Pantry, housed at the Poland Methodist Church, which is sponsored by Poland’s four largest churches: Poland Methodist, Poland Presbyterian, Prince of Peace, and Holy Family.
“This is the third time that members and friends of The Bulldog Turf Club have made a donation to the food pantry. The food pantry is a great community resource and we are proud to support it,” said Turf Club Chairman Bob Richards, Jr. “We are honored to provide this community service. We will continue our efforts for the pantry for as long as we can,” he said.
In order to make the donation, members and friends of the club made personal cash donations. Turf Club members and friends then went shopping, purchased, and delivered the much needed food. No Turf Club funds were used in this project.
At its December meeting, the Poland Local School District Board of Education recognized The Bulldog Turf Club, whose primary function is to raise funds for the refurbishment of PSHS Field at Poland Seminary High School. Over the past five years, artificial playing surfaces have become the trend, as many high schools and colleges, both locally and across the country, have installed a synthetic playing field.
