With 120 golfers ready to hit the greens on Thursday to help support the Lady Spartans basketball team, it became an extra special event with basketball team members showing up to help out. Team members lending a hand included sophomores Megan Volosin and Nikki Hillard, junior Giovanna Silvestri, (seated) sophomore Kelly Tomcsanyi, sophomores Briana Fonderlin and Jenna Kuczek, freshman Amanda Lipke, sophomore Kennedy Kesner, senior Colleen Baker, and (standing on cart) junior Emily Gibbs.
The Boardman Lady Spartans Basketball Boosters and golf outing committee members that put the Thursday event together included, in front row: Jeff Hammerton, Mike Kenneally and Judy Volosin. In middle row were: coach Ron Moschella, Kelly Meenachan, Barb Fonderlin, Saunni Russo, coach Moschella's granddaughter Jenna Vivo and his wife Judy Moschella, and Sharon Tomcsanyi. In back row were: Brian Fonderlin, Dave Fiffick, Denise Borts, Mike Lipke, Mike Tomcsanyi and Bill Volosin.
Boardman coach Ron Moschella was among the 120 golfers to hit the greens on Thursday. Getting ready were two of his foursome, his grandkids Brian Terlesky and Jenna Vivo, both 11.
Lady Spartans basketball coach Ron Moschella not only saw good participation in support of the girls basketball team, but experienced a family affair with his assistant coach and daughter Christine Terlesky and her daughter Emma, 2, who helped out to make the golf outing a grand success.
Boardman High School junior varsity boys golf team members Max Morrow and Luco Beato, both sophomores, got a little practice in while supporting the girls basketball team on Aug. 11.
