These are exciting times for all of us here in Austintown. New schools, a new conference for the great majority of our sport teams, and of course the challenges of being an independent in football.
Speaking of challenges, our athletic facilities this fall, and into the near future, will certainly be challenged. Consequently, many events will be shifted from traditional locations and many of our start times will be adjusted to accommodate all of our practices and contests.
Also, once construction begins, parking will be at a premium.
There are two notable changes we all must prepare for:
The Austintown Board of Education has declared that ALL Austintown Local School buildings and grounds, in particular athletic venues, are now tobacco free. Consequently, tobacco use of any kind will be prohibited everywhere. Our coaches, administration, event staff, and security personnel expect your cooperation regarding this policy.
With our membership in the All American Conference beginning this fall, admission prices have changed. Varsity contest admission fees will be $6 for adults and $4 for students. Freshmen/middle school contests are at adults, $4 and students, $2.
It should be noted that the Federal League has also increased their admission prices and are in line with the AAC. It should also be noted that despite playing a full Federal League schedule this fall, we are in fact an independent. Despite our independent status in football, we will adhere to the increase in admission prices for the sake of consistency. The increase is as follows: varsity football adult, $6, student pre-sale, $4, gate (all), $6, and reserved (all), $7.
Let’s all plan on having a great fall season and support our student-athletes and coaches as we enter this new phase in Austintown athletics.
