Private funeral services will be held at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home in Hubbard for Thelma B. Penman, 97, formerly of Poland, who passed away Tuesday, July 26, at her son’s home in Hubbard.
Mrs. Penman was born March 9, 1914 in New Castle, Pa., a daughter of William H. and Carrie E. Filbert Miller.
She was a lifelong resident of Poland and belonged to the Friendship Circle and Mariner's Club at Poland Presbyterian Church, where she had been an active member for more than 50 years. She was a former member of Youngstown Country Club, The Youngstown Club, the Poland Garden Club, and Friends of the Poland Library.
She leaves her daughter, Stephanie (James) Andrews of Sammamish, Wash., and her son, Richard (Linda) Penman of Hubbard, with whom she made her home. She will always be remembered as a “Storybook Grandma” by her three grandchildren, Mitch, Cindi and Justin.
She also leaves behind to cherish her memory four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, Lee Miller.
Mrs. Penman was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John Michener Penman, who passed away Dec. 16, 1992, and her brother, David Miller.
