Canfield’s starting pitcher Jake Kuchmaner, comes off a disappointing Friday 14-5 loss to archrival Poland in the 11- and 12-year-old Little League district tournament. The Cardinals were top seeded in the tournament, meaning Poland would have to beat them twice to win the district title. Kuchmaner and the gang had other plans. After the loss to Poland on Friday, the Cards would regroup and came out on Friday, July 15 to avenge their loss by beating the Bulldogs 5-4. They will now represent Ohio Distrcit 2 in the 11- and 12-year-old bracket at the state tournament in Englewood.

A tipped ball that headed towards the fence appears as though catcher Dean Laver would make the play, but out of nowhere came first baseman Zachery Bernat to make a surprising catch that delighted the Canfield fans during second inning contest against Poland.
