The Boardman Community Baseball 11-year-old all-star team will be hitting the road. After going undefeated in district play last week, they won the District 2 Little League title in a decisive win against Howland on July 14.
Michael Cunningham pitched all six innings in the 7-4 win, which puts the team on the road to Hamilton to participate in the state playoffs July 30 through Aug. 6.
The team will be led out of Boardman with a police escort at 11:40 a.m. Friday, July 29. The families and boys will travel from Southern Park Mall to Tippecanoe Road as the community sends them on their way to represent the district, which includes Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.
