Hadley fourth at national meet

Boardman freshman Mark Hadley finished fourth overall in the Freshmen 1600 Meter Run at the 2011 National Scholastic New Balance Outdoor Track and Field Meet June 17 on the campus of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Hadley, who was accompanied to the meet by Boardman boys head track coach Dave Pavlansky and members of his family, ran the race in a time of 4:28 to earn a spot on the national podium.

Hadley was a regional qualifier for the Spartan track team this past spring with a season best and BHS freshman record time of 4:27 in the 1600, he also set the freshman school record in the 3200 with a time of 9:56. Hadley was a regional qualifier and Second-Team All Federal League runner this past fall in cross country, his best time of 16:49 ranks 25th in Boardman High School history.
