The Boardman boys track team concluded its season with the regional and state track meets over the last two weeks. Spartan sophomore Nathan Jones qualified for state by placing fourth in the region in the 100 meter dash in a time of 10.97. In Columbus, Jones did not qualify for the state finals.
Other Spartans that scored at the regional meet were senior Leandre Jackson, who placed sixth with a jump of 6 feet and 6 inches. Also, freshman Mark Hadley finished seventh in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:29.
Hadley will be representing the Spartan track and cross country programs on Friday, June 17, when he competes in the Freshman 1600 at the 2011 Outdoor National Championship Meet in Greensboro, N.C. Hadley is currently ranked 18th in the country in the event.
