Boardman's freshman softball team scored five runs in the first inning in Monday’s game against Mentor, the second of their double header. Both teams were then held scoreless until the top of the fourth when Mentor scored seven runs to pull ahead. As the game headed into the final frames, Boardman rallied to pull ahead for a 13-7 win.
In the Spartans' first game, versus Tallmadge, Boardman lost 10-0 mostly due to fielding errors.
