Meister and Toomey engaged to be married in July

The engagement of Erin Elizabeth Meister and John Toomey, both of New York City, is being announced by Thomas and Ann Meister of Poland, parents of the bride-to-be. The future groom is the son of Bernie and Cathy Toomey of Dover, N.H.

The couple will be united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. July 16 at the Millennium Bostonian Hotel in Boston, followed by a private reception at the hotel.

Miss Meister graduated from Ohio University in Athens with a bachelor of science in early childhood education and is attending graduate school at Hunter College in New York City, where she works as a teacher.

Mr. Toomey served eight years in the U.S. Army as a Green Beret and served two tours in Iraq. He is currently attending Columbia University in New York City.
