Spartans prepare for season opener

With 18 players assigned to the varsity squad, including nine returning seniors, there are a total of 54 boys and nine coaches to make up this year’s freshmen, JV and varsity baseball squads at Boardman High School. Coach Bob Beam said he is happy with the enthusiasm and cooperation of the kids; they have been doing what he asks and buying into his philosophy.

The Spartan guys open their season March 30 when they hit the road to challenge the Canfield Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. at Canfield High School.
