The Austintown girls bowling team finished in third place at the Federal League tournament on Feb. 5. They beat GlenOak for the position after posting a 2,559 to GlenOak’s 2,394. The high total for Fitch went to Katie Viglio who turned in a 175 and a 204 game. Adding to the team’s win were Vickie Berquist with a 170 and 202; Marietta Gallo with a 185 and 176; DeLorean Jones with a 184 and 179; Daria Harris with a 168 and Kristen Dota with a 165.
Boardman won the tournament with Hoover coming in second.
On the boys side of the lane, the final round came down to a bid for fifth spot out of eight teams and posted Fitch bowlers against rival Boardman. Boardman ended up winning the bid by a score of 2,718 to 2,700. Scoring for the boys were Brian Skelton with a 173 and 175; Zach Thompson with a 180 and 178; D.J. Learn with a 180 and 236; Kyle Condrick with a 159; Vince Viglio with a 182 and 237; and Mike Kasace with a 213.
