Staafs celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. William Staaf Jr. recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary during a family dinner at the home of their son-in-law

and daughter, Paul and Cindy Lasky of Canfield. Their son, William Staaf III, also lives in Canfield.

The Staafs were married Sept. 23, 1950, at Boardman Methodist Church. They both attended Youngstown College.

Bill graduated from South High School and served in Okinawa during World War II. He worked for A.F. Beil Electric for 32 years, retiring in 1989.

The former Shirley Skinner graduated from Boardman High School, worked for the G.M. McKelvey Co. and Mahoning National Bank. She is a member of the original Tappin' Juliettes and the Youngstown-Salem 600 Bowling Club.
