Allison Pavlansky won a USTA Tennis Tournament in Medina on Jan. 22 in the girls 16-year-old division. It was the 'Paramount Girls Winter Classic' sanctioned by the USTA. She beat the Number 1 seed in the semifinals, Katlyn Hissong of Walsh Jesuit 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 and Jamie Vizelman in the finals 6-1, 4-6, 10-5. Allison also plays varsity basketball for Canfield and is in the midst of that season, but took time out to show her talents on the tennis court as well.
