Serenko and Ruminski exchange vows Sept. 4

Thomas Ruminski and his bride, the former Catherine Serenko, were united in marriage Sept. 4 at St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown.

The Rev. Nicholas Shori officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony that united the daughter of Chuck and Carol Serenko, and the son of Frank and Christine Ruminski, all of New Middletown.

The couple was honored during a reception at the Assumption Social Center of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

The bride wore a strapless ivory sweetheart gown. It featured an asymmetrical waist with exquisite beadwork and a semi-chapel train.

Wearing black gowns were maid of honor Carolyn Serenko, sister of the bride, and matron of honor Lindsey Wolfe. Eggplant gowns were worn by the bridesmaids, including Michelle Shafer, Rachel Serenko, Jamie Serenko, Jessica Gifford and Jessica Snyder.

Serving as best man for his brother was Frank Ruminski. The groomsmen included Paul Sujka, Lee Shafer, Paul Canter, Bobby Canter, Eric Zitkovic, Mark Horvath and Eric Fender.

The new Mrs. Ruminski graduated magna cum laude from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in health care administration from Cleveland State University. She is employed as a registered nurse with University Hospital Case Medical Center in Cleveland.

A quality engineer with Gilbane Building Company in Cleveland, Mr. Ruminski earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Youngstown State University and his master's degree in business administration from Cleveland State University.

Following a honeymoon trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple live in Lakewood.
