• Fitch Volleyball
The Falcon varsity volleyball team fell to Perry last week 16-25, 14-25, and 11-25. The leading scorer for Fitch was Emily Pabst with three aces. Leading attacker went to Julie Martinelli with 12 attempts and eight kills. Leading setter was Britney Weidenthal with 21 attempts and 18 assists. Leading defender was Amanda Callahan with 17 serve receptions and five digs. Julie Martinelli was credited with lead blocker with a total of two. The girls are now at 1-4 overall and 0-4 in league play.
On the JV side, the Fitch girls defeated Perry 25-12, 22-25, 25-23. Tori Wise posted seven kills and eight aces, Alexa Lynn had four blocks, Jaileeli Letlow had 17 assists and Alana Callahan posted 16 digs.
• Fitch Tennis
The Fitch girls tennis team moved to 4-6 on the season and 2-2 in the league after a 4-1 victory for Mooney last week. Fitch’s only win came in doubles after Caitlin Sheridan and Victoria Phelps defeated the Mooney team 6-3, 6-1.
• Free towels
Gates will open at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 for the Canton McKinley/Hall of Fame football game. The first 1,000 fans through the gates at Falcon Stadium for the game will receive an official rally towel courtesy of Quaker Steak & Lube, Austintown.
