Calvin and Marilouise Stroble of Boardman will celebrate 50 years of marriage on Sept. 5.
Calvin and his wife, the former Marilouise Cifaldi, were wed on Sept. 5, 1960, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Boardman. Both are eucharistic ministers and very active members of the church, helping many people in the area. Calvin is also a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and helps out in the soup kitchen on a regular basis.
Calvin is a Navy Corpsman veteran. He has pursued many occupations, including as a local artisan. He has shared his talents by teaching painting classes and has had his works displayed at the Butler Museum of American Art. A public showing of some of his works is being planned at Fellows Riverside Gardens next year.
His wife Marilouise was a third grade teacher at St. Luke’s Elementary School for over 20 years and is now enjoying her retirement.
The Strobles are the parents of Marie (John) Discerni of Scottsdale, Ariz., Calvin (Pam) Stroble of Henderson, Nev., and Ann (Stephen) Brandt of Canfield. They also have three grandchildren.
