Ault begins term on OHSAA board

John Ault, athletic administrator at West Branch High School in Beloit, will begin his term on the Ohio High School Athletic Association Board of Directors when the board meets in Columbus to begin the 2010-11 school year. It is his ?rst term on the OHSAA Board of Directors.


The OHSAA is the governing body of the high school sports in Ohio. It is a voluntary, non-pro?t organization which governs more than 830 high schools and 800 middle schools, which amounts to more than 350,000 students.


Ault graduated from Louisville High School before serving two years in the U.S. Army, including nine months in Vietnam where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. After his service, Ault earned his bachelor's degree in elementary education from Kent State University.


He began his career in education with Louisville Junior High and High School teaching science and social studies, respectively. He later moved to Hanoverton, where he taught junior high math, science and language arts at United Local Schools. Ault was the athletic director at United for 11 years.


After accepting his current position as athletic administrator at West Branch High School in 2008, he was elected to the Northeast District Athletic Board as a Class AA representative. Ault has also been a member of the Northeast Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Executive Committee and the Tri-County Area Athletic Directors Group. Ault currently resides in Salem.
