The 9-and-under Poland girls softball team won the district 2 championship on July 19 sending them to Wheelersburg, to play for the state championship. Poland defeated Canfield in the district title game by rallying from an 8-3 deficit with stong bats and great base running to come back and win 9-8.
"The girls' bats were key for the entire tournament," said coach Andrew Lattanzio. Poland averaged more than 13 runs per game throughout the tournament.
