The Western Reserve Joint Fire District Board of Trustees approved the appointments of Seth Randolph and Maggie Adams to the position of probationary firefighter/EMS during the July meeting. They were both approved for the issuance of uniforms pending successful completion of physical exam, background check, drug screening, ability test, state mandated training and a one-year probationary period. Randolph is a current cadet with the appartment.
In other business:
• Approval was given for the clerk’s report that included $2,170 to Comp Management Group renewal that will have a projected savings of $19,498.
• Approval was given for the annual renewal of the Firehouse Software support contract by ACS Firehouse Software at a cost of $845. This involves the state fire reporting program.
• Under training: Approval was given for three firefighters to attend the EMS conference in Columbus in September; up to six to attend 120-hour firefighter training this fall; and Seth Randolph to attend the 36-hour course at MCCTC in September at a cost of $280.
• Approval was given for the final payment invoice of $290 for the Alpha pagers. With this payment, it was noted the account would be closed.
• A motion was approved to purchase one new commercial treadmill to replace the old one at Station 93. The new one will be purchased from the Muscle Connection with delivery and assembly included in the $2,575 cost. It was noted the original cost was at $3,450 and the district was getting a $1,000 trade-in credit for the older Jacob’s Ladder unit.
• Butch and McCree Paving was approved for the repaving of the parking lot at Station 91 at a cost of $15,797.60.
