April 4

1:27 a.m. Following a traffic stop on East Main Street with a loud stereo, Richard H. Smith, 26, 5525 Muirfield Drive, Canfield, was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, was cited for a loud stereo and his vehicle was impounded.

7:39 a.m. Officers retreived Scott C. Harker, 24, 5616 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles, from the Mahoning County Jail and transported him to Canfield where he was booked on a Mayor’s Court warrant for drug paraphernalia. Harker was then released to the custody of Trumbull County deputies on a warrant from that jurisdiction.

April 5

2:02 a.m. Following a traffic stop on U.S. 224, west of the city limits, on a vehicle with a defective exhaust, Michael P. Pedro, 32, 1322 North Palmyra Road, North Jackson, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, was cited for the defective exhaust and his vehicle was impounded.

12:28 p.m. Officers impounded a vehicle at 333 W. Main St. that had been abandoned by a former tenant at that address. The property owner claimed to try numerous times to contact the owner by mail and personal conversations, then contacted police as it was deemed an eyesore.

2:08 p.m. A report was taken into the possible theft of grease from a storage container at Arby’s, 13 Talsman Drive.
