Poland swimmers qualify for championship meet

Thirteen Poland swimmers headed to the Great Lakes Zone YMCA Championship Swim Meet, March 19 through 21 at Bowling Green University. The Great Lakes Zone Meet participants includes YMCA Clubs in Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Michigan. In order to qualify for the zone meet, swimmers had to previously achieved times that place them in the top 25 to 30 for their event among the participating YMCA Clubs across all five states. The team included, in front: Taylor Tofil, Jay Raymer, Logan Kountz, Madeline Graziano, Gina Ungaro, Zoe Sommers, Maddie Leek, Maddie Evan, Paul Graziano, and in back row: Brian Cowles, Joe Boniface, Nick Boniface, and Ian Harker. Not pictured is Jennifer Eich. They represented the Youngstown YMCA Neptunes Swim Team, and are among 32 swimmers that qualified for the event. The team is coached by Sue Mellish with assistance from Stacy Sowers, Kristen Kuntzman, Ashley Emerson, Laura Hammond and Jessie Font.
