Fitch shot put thrower Ali Tolich competed in the Nike Indoor Nationals in Boston, March 12, where she placed sixth in the 20-pound weight throws with a toss of 49 feet 3 inches and earned All-American honors.
The next day, she placed eighth in the shot put with a 39 feet, 1.25 inches. She was just shy of making the podium for the event.
This week, Tolich has been gearing up for the OATCCC Indoor State Championships on Saturday, March 20. She is presently ranked number one in Division I in both events.
Her recent trip to the Nike event could not have been accomplished had it not been for a lot of support.
“We would like to thank everyone who helped her make it to Boston including Knightline Embroidery, Austintown Rotory, Fitch Track Booster Club, and numerous individual supporters,” said coach T.J. Koniowsky.
