Local cheer squad places first in Winter Classic

The Stunt, Tumble, Cheer Academy Blue Elite All-Star Cheerleading Squad competed in The Winter Classic All-Star Dance and Cheer Competition in Canton on Feb. 14. The squad placed first in their division and received an overall score that so high that they were awarded a fully paid bid to the International All-Levels All-Star Championships on May 1 in Cincinnati, where they will compete against teams from all over the country, for the title of International All-Levels Championship. 


The team also received a banner for having the "Most Tremendous Tosses" of all 37 All-Star Squads that competed that day. 


STC Blue Elite will also compete at the Hard Rock’n Nationals in Cleveland, the weekend of March 13 and 14, as well as Spirit Sports National Championship in Myrtle Beach, N.C., the last weekend in March.


The team is comprised of athletes from Columbiana, Trumbull and Mahoning Counties. STC Academy is located at 85 Karago Ave. B-3, in Boardman.
