Schaub becomes bride of Speck in June ceremony

Canfield United Methodist Church was the setting for the June 20 wedding of Deborah Jane Schaub and Jon Jared Speck. The Rev. Jennifer Williamson presided over the double ring ceremony held at 2:30 p.m., with music provided by Janet Williams and Patrick Barrett. 

Parents of the couple are Carl and Becky Schaub of Canfield, and Jon and Lori Speck of Pleasant Prairie, Wis. 

An evening reception was held following the ceremony at Harry and Jean’s Restaurant in Canfield. The couple then left for a honeymoon on Kiawah Island, S.C.

The bride wore a strapless ivory silk gown trimmed in Swarovski crystals. Two dozen hand-covered buttons adorned the back of the dress and led to a semi-cathedral train that was bustled for the reception. Her fingertip length veil was also trimmed in Swarovski crystals and tiny feathers. The one-of-a-kind European gown was lovingly styled by Gregory Lerman at Vita Fashions in Boardman.

The bride and attendants carried bouquets of white calla lilies. 

The maid of honor was Ellen Schaub of Columbus, the bride’s sister. Rae Valentine of North Canton, cousin of the bride, served as bridesmaid. Both wore black bubble style cocktail-length dresses. 

Serving as best man for the groom was David Evans, and David Schulz was the groomsman. Both are friends of the groom from Columbus.

The bride is an accountant at GBQ Partners, LLC in Columbus. She graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor of science in business administration, majoring in accounting and finance.

The groom attended Ohio State University and graduated from the Columbus Police Academy  He is an officer with the Columbus Police Department and serves in the Ohio National Guard.
