The sixth-grade Boardman junior Lady Spartans tournament team beat all competitors in the Leetonia Tournament, held weekends Jan. 9 through 30. The team faced tough competitors, including Salem, Columbiana, Lisbon, Leetonia and Jackson Milton and gave up only 58 points during pool play. In a hot contest for the championship, Boardman faced a tough Columbiana team and beat them 24-21 in overtime. Team members are, seated left to right, Marisa Hanna, Anna Saxton, Maggie Loney and Jenna Vivo; standing behind are Franchesca Cardillo, Krista Johnson, Bailey Brandt, Veronica Marcella, Taylor Harden and Natalie Wilson. The team is coached by Jared Cardillo, Tim Saxton and Erik Johnson.
