The Canfield Cardinals took two league road losses this weekend, and were blanked in both games. Saturday, Canfield lost to NDCL 5-0, and Sunday, Bay bested the Cards 7-0. Canfield is now 4-10 on the season, losing seven straight, and 1-4 in Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League Blue South play.
This Sunday, Canfield will host the Steel Valley Invitational along with Mooney/Ursuline. Canfield will take on Lakewood Club at 12:45 p.m. and then plays Euclid at 3:45 p.m.
The second annual Steel Valley Cup games will take place Jan. 18 with the Cards Developmental team defending their crown against Mooney/Ursuline at 5:45 p.m. and the varsity teams will play each other at 7 p.m.
All games will be played at the Ice Zone in Boardman.
